Heal, Walk, Love

In everyone’s life there comes a defining moment where we must decide whether we continue to do what we always do and get the same results or we decide to follow Jesus and watch his transformative power change our very existence.  It is a moment that determines where you will spend eternity.  Yet so many see it as a moment that can wait until tomorrow, as if tomorrow waits for them.  But realistically tomorrow waits for no man or woman (Matthew 24:36, ESV).  Even the moment we are in right now passes quickly.  That is why we must be intentional, not only in the decision but in cultivating a relationship with him and with others.  When Jesus called Simon (who is called peter), and his brother Andrew they both decided to follow Jesus together (Matthew 4:18-20, ESV).  How beautiful it is to see two brothers following Christ together.  Doing Jesus together.  It was an amazing example that this journey was not meant to be traveled alone.

If you are walking alone, then you have not understood that God not only wants you to be in relationship with him but also with those who are also walking towards Jesus.  What keeps us from cultivating relationships with others?  Perhaps, we are still holding on to the past.  Perhaps, we are holding bitterness, a grudge, unforgiveness in our hearts?  Perhaps, we are holding offenses from our past?  Whatever it is we must let it go and give it to God.  We must allow God permission to mend our broken hearts so that we can be a vessel that can hold the full power of the Holy Spirit.  A broken vessel leaks bitterness, hurt, anger, resentment, unforgiveness, envy, pride, jealousy, insecurities, hopelessness, depression, oppression, anxiety and the list can go on.  But a vessel that has been mended by our God the Great Physician does not leak but instead by the full power and manifestation of the Holy Spirit pours out peace, love, joy, patience, kindness, humility, goodness, gentleness, and self-control.  Let go of all your hurt. Be inspired, empowered, and connected. Allow God to heal you so that you can walk in the fullness of the spirit to do the very thing God has called everyone to do to walk in love and carry out the great commission.
