Inspired, Empowered, Connected: Do It Afraid?

Do you remember a time when things were not going so well?  Possibly you lost your job.  Maybe it was a disagreement with someone you love.  Perhaps, your car would not start or you had a flat tire.  But then all of the sudden you got an opportunity for a better job.  You were able to resolve the conflict with that person you love.  Someone blessed you with a new car or helped you put on the spare tire.  Going through the difficulty did you stop for a minute to know that is was God who saved and protected you?

King David was speaking to God.  Perhaps, he was remembering how God had saved him from the lion’s den or even how he had saved him from the giant or possibly the countless times he saved him in battle.  He was reaffirming his faith when he said “The Lord is my light and my salvation. King David was able to trust Gods plan for his life because he experienced and recognized firsthand that it was God who saved and protected him.

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

That is why one of my very favorite quotes is; Do it afraid!  When God asks you to do something then do it even if you are afraid.  Why because most likely like King David he has saved and protected you from more than just a loss of a job, a car breaking down, a disagreement with someone. Even you did not recognize God’s intervention at the time, you can trust God’s plan for your life, because it always leads you to something greater.

Opportunity is knocking? The question remains are you going to step out in faith, despite the fear and believe God for His purpose over your life?
